EDSSA Monitoring/Spring Reg. forms:14Dec
Can all please forward their EDSSA Autumn 2012 Event Monitoring forms to Martinlyons@live.co.uk by the 31/12/12 at the latest please (Downloadable from the EDSSA website).
Can All please register for the 2013 EDSSA Spring Event by the 31/12/12 please (Downloadable from the EDSSA website).
Registration forms should be forwarded to their age group Match Secretary, who will collect all in for their age group and then forward to the EDSSA committee.
Please ensure to register on time, as we do not want a repeat of the Autumn 2012 Event where teams missed up to the first 3 weeks of the Event due to paperwork not being completed on time.
This caused havoc with the 2012 Autumn EDSSA fixtures, causing teams to play each other two and three times (and missing playing other teams completely), when teams should have played each other once.
Thanks
Martin (14/12/12)
Everyone attending an EDSSA approved football match should be able to easily recognise who is in charge of the respective teams. Particularly from a Child Protection perspective, a child needs to be comfortable in knowing it is safe to approach someone in authority if they need to report anything sinister.
All designated coaches should wear a yellow jacket to signify that they are an officially recognised EDSSA Coach. Failure to do so may result in removal of fixtures.
The first two teams to play need to go to the main entrance to collect the nets from the janitor. These can be collected at 9am and set up for 9.15am kick off.
The last two teams to play must remove the nets and return to the janitor at the end of the let.
DO NOT assume that because there was another fixture to take place that it is okay to leave the nets at the end of your game, If the teams are not at the venue and ready to take to the field then please remove the nets and return to the janitor. If teams turn up late it is then their responsibility to get the nets from the janitor and put them back up.
We have lost nets because of the negligence of some teams therefore teams will be charged for the replacement cost of nets that are lost.
Please note that it is important that teams go to their allocated pitch at the time allocated rather than mill around inside the cage as there is not enough room for everyone at change over times. Teams comong off the pitch should take their bags and vacate the cage and get any team talks outside of the cage to let the other games commence.
Times are strict. If you start your game late for whatever reason then that is your problem. Teams have a right to get access to the pitch at their allocated time.
Only coaches with yellow jackets are allowed to stand on the inside pitch lines. No adult without a yellow jacket is allowed on the inside pitch lines.
Unfortunately we have to cope with different weather situations, particularly throughout the winter months. Whilst snow and ice are clear reasons why games may be called off, there are other reasons such as gale force wind, perhaps accompanied by driving rain or sleet.
If games are cancelled by the janitor or with agreement of the coaches or if a game starts and a decision is taken to abandon the match due to weather conditions, then please advise Brian Martin by e-mail on the day the match should have taken place.
Brian can then contact the Letting department to try to ensure that no charge is levied for the pitch. In some cases where the match is abandoned, then your EDSSA Committee may still agree not to charge teams for the day even if we cannot get the charge removed.
Register your team with SYFA and when the process is complete, please ensure to print off the Application, get it signed by the appropriate club/team officials, then get it countersigned by EDSSA Secretary (this can be done at the 2nd August meeting), then send it to SYFA with a copy of the valid 1st Aid certificate for the designated 1st Aid officer.
You will then get an e-mail from SYFA confirming your membership.
Following a further search of SYFA Registration information the following teams were found not to be registered with SYFA:-
Campsie 2000s, 2001s, 2002s
North Kelvin United 2002s
The upshot of this is that I have had to pull fixtures from these teams which unfortunately means that the teams who are SYFA registered have had to have their fixtures rearranged or in the case of Baljaffray Thistle 2000s, their fixture has been cancelled altogether as there is no spare team available to play.
Re-arranged fixtures as follows:-
2000s - Baljaffray Thistle v Campsie cancelled - no replacement fixture
2001s - Campsie v Petershill BC A cancelled - new fixture is Petershill BC B v Petershill BC A at Wester Cleddens Primary kick off 9.15am
2001s - EDFC v NKU Athletic and EDFC Utd v NKU both games reinstated at St Helens kick off 11.15am
2002s - EDFC Th v NKU and Campsie v Rosebank United both cancelled - new fixture is EDFC Thistle v Rosebank United at Merkland Pitch A kick off 10am
These are the guidelines for effecting a proper environment to provide the structure to the games. There are slight amendments to each age group such as retreat lines as an example.
Please ensure that anyone involved in coaching or refereeing is fully up to speed with the new rules and importantly, the children too...!!
Please nip any adult issues in the bud without any animosity otherwise EDSSA Committee will come down hard, particularly against any repeat offenders.
