Welcome to your EDSSA website
2002 EDSSA Fixture change May&June
Update: 11/05/2013, 18:20pm
Can I ask any team that is wanting to take part in a Summer Festivals that clash with any EDSSA fixtures to notify their agegroup Match Secretary. This is to enable him to adjust fixtures for the remaining EDSSA teams to ensure they get a game in your absence. Permission will also need to be obtained from Brian Martin (his signature is required for the SYFA Form).
Match Secretaries:
2002 Martin Lyons (martinlyons@live.co.uk)
2003 Billy Logan (william.logan@talk21.com)
2004 Martin Lyons (martinlyons@live.co.uk)

EDSSA Spring 2013 Fixtures Released.
Update: 17th of March at 21:00 pm (Martin Lyons).
EDSSA Spring 2013 Fixtures for the 23rd of March have been released for the 2001,2002,2003 and 2004 agegroups.
Please check the website for details.
Remember to check the EDSSA website each week to ensure Fixture changes have not occured.
NOTE: Please ensure you read the Date / Time and Location of your fixture Carefully (e.g Do not confuse St Helen's with St Ninian's).
All games and 2001s 11-a-side in-service scheduled for Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March are OFF due to snowfall. Next games will be on Saturday 20 April.
The 2001 11-a-side In-Service will be re-arranged for a time - possibly midweek - in advance of the EDSSA Festival which will not take place until mid May at earliest.
All clubs setting up a Tournament must register that tournament with SYFA.
All clubs invited to take part in a Tournament must go into www.syfaregistrations.co.uk to register to play in the tournament and download a permit. If the tournament is not on the website you cannot take part as it is not a registered event and as part of SYFA membership no team is allowed to play unregistered football.
SYFA penalties can be severe to both club and officials so don't do it.
We want good behaviour emphasised to everyone associated with EDSSA football on and off the pitch. Coaches need to be good role models and parents are there to support and encourage, not berate and abuse! Inappropriate behaviour and bad language anywhere on or around the pitch must be stamped out immediately by the coaches. Stop games if you feel it is appropriate to do so for your kids safety in line with Child Protection policies and bring to the attention of your Committee by e-mail within 3 days.
East Dunbartonshire has a strict zero tolerance policy on dogs and smoking in their schools and football venues. It is a condition of our lets that no dogs are allowed at venues and no smoking inside the venue perimeter. For the avoidance of doubt that means anywhere inside the school or sports venue grounds.
Please download the Team Registration document for 2012 from the Document Download tab.
The good news is that this form will cover the full year from March to November. Any changes to coach or coach details should be advised as it happens throughout the year to allow EDSSA to maintain its database up to date.
All coaches and active adult team members MUST attend the COMPULSORY In-Service day at Caldwell Hall, 16 Campsie Road, Torrance on Saturday 20 August between 9.30am and 11.30am.
All coaches named in the EDSSA Registration Form for each individual team together with First Aiders and other adults who actively take part in coaching at training and match days must attend this session which will be taken by Alan Taylor, SFA Development Manager, Central Region.
Failure to attand may result in fixtures for your team being withdrawn until a Disciplinary meeting can be convened to understand the reasons for non attendance. Whilst 100% attendance would be welcomed, there will be some valid reasons why a small minority of the EDSSA coaches may be unable to attend. If this relates to you then please advise Brian Martin immediately by e-mail and prior to the event, as to the reason for not being able to attend.
Games are not allowed to take place if coaches do not wear the compulsory hi viz EDSSA yellow jacket. These jackets will be handed out to coaches of new teams and additional coaches of existing teams at Tuesday's meeting.
The meeting will take place in Caldwell Hall, Torrance from 8pm. Any new clubs not represented will have their place immediately withdrawn and no fixtures issued to them as they will not have been issued with a yellow jacket to take part. This is your passport to EDSSA football...!
There will be a full Agenda to cover off therefore all clubs require to attend and the FINE system will be in place for clubs not in attendance.
Check to ensure your team is registered by viewing the age group that your team is playing at. If your team is not showing then please contact Brian Martin immediately.

The Fun 4s section (2004/2005/2006) will be updated later and these games will be played at Kirkintilloch High School as in previous seasons.
It has come to the Committee's attention that yellow jackets are not been worn by all of the coaches in the cage at Kirkintilloch Fun 4s. Everyone has a responsibility to police this as a group. NO ADULT IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE CAGE WITHOUT A YELLOW JACKET AND SHOULD BE POLITELY CHALLENGED and asked to provide their name, club they represent. This information should be forwarded to Brian. If they do not provide this information they should be asked to leave the cage. This is for the protection and safety of the children.
If there are further reports then the relevant clubs will be fined and possibly banned from participating following disciplinary action from Committee.
Please advise Brian Martin by e-mail of club and coach name if they were not given a yellow jacket.
The final EDSSA meeting of the season is due to take place at Caldwell Hall, 16 Campsie Road, Torrance on Monday 29 November 2010 at 7.45pm prompt. The Agenda is to include a look forward to next years Player Pathway and in particular 1999's going to 11-a-side, 2003/4's Development 4's and the aspect of supplying referees to games on a trial basis. Every club needs to be represented and Fines will be issued to non attendees if a club is not represented.
The AGM will be held in Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre Conference Room, Woodhead Park, Kirkintilloch G66 3DD on Monday 10 January 2011 at 7.30pm.
All clubs must be in attendance as there will be items pertaining to the Spring Event 2011 that people need to be aware of to enable them to enter a team to particpate in this event.
Invoices for Autumn 2010 will be e-mailed out shortly and must be paid within 28 days.
There will be a meeting at Caldwell Hall on Monday 31 January for coaches of teams participating in the EDSSA league for next season. This meeting will give everyone an opportunity to have their invoices paid up to date and get your Registration in for 2011 - one form per team will be sufficient for the year.
So much for Spring as the snow decimated the playing card and stopped the Fun 4's getting up and running. The good news is that there was plenty of communication and the website was updated at 7.50am and again at 9.25am with details of pitches off as we got reports in.
THIS IS YOUR REFERRAL POINT WHENEVER THERE IS A DOUBT DUE TO WEATHER RELATED ISSUES.
The Extra-ordinary General Meeting to agree amendments to the Constitution will take place on Monday 15 March (note date change) at 7.30pm in Caldwell Hall, Campsie Road, Torrance. All member clubs must attend to form a quorum to agree. Please click on Meetings/AGM tab to see full amended Constitution
Following a further search of SYFA Registration information the following teams were found not to be registered with SYFA:-
Campsie 2000s, 2001s, 2002s, 2003s
North Kelvin United 2002s
The upshot of this is that I have had to pull fixtures from these teams which unfortunately means that the teams who are SYFA registered have had to have their fixtures rearranged or in the case of Baljaffray Thistle 2000s, their fixture has been cancelled altogether as there is no spare team available to play.
Re-arranged fixtures as follows:-
2000s - Baljaffray Thistle v Campsie cancelled - no replacement fixture
2001s - Campsie v Petershill BC A cancelled - new fixture is Petershill BC B v Petershill BC A at Wester Cleddens Primary kick off 9.15am
2001s - EDFC v NKU Athletic and EDFC Utd v NKU now reinstated
2002s - EDFC Th v NKU and Campsie v Rosebank United both cancelled - new fixture is EDFC Thistle v Rosebank United at Merkland Pitch A kick off 10am
2003s - Campsie will be excluded from Fun 4s until SYFA registration is in place. Westerton United are noe cleared to play.
Fixtures are being uploaded to the website over the next day or so. Please note venue and time each week and do not rely that a fixture you have on 26 November will still be the same time and venue as it is now.
Please note that the venue at Wester Cleddens allows for time from 9am to get the nets from the janitor to put up and the last two teams must remove and return them to the janitor at the end of the game.
Refer to Fun 4s or Soccer 7s tabs for further information on venues and times.
Next EDSSA MEETING - Tuesday 14th August
Just to remind all that the next EDSSA Meeting is on Tuesday the 14th of August 20:00pm - 21:30pm, at Caldwell Hall Torrance (This will cover the Start up to the EDSSA Autumn Event 2012). Minutes from last meeting in AGM/Minutes tab
EDSSA Fixtures released - (25 Aug only)
EDSSA Fixtures have been released (00:00PM 28/8/12) on this website for fixtures that both teams have SYFA Registration for the 2001 /2002 & 2003 age groups.
Team that do not have SYFA Registration should forward their registration to the EDSSA Committee as soon as they receive it, to enable their CANCELLED Fixture to be activated and the game to proceed (especially since teams that are SYFA registered are currently missing out because of this).
Teams that are not currently SYFA Registered:
IF the EDSSA Committee do not receive a copy of your SYFA Registration by 21:00pm on Wednesday the 29th of August, your Saturday Fixture will be given away to teams that are willing to play double fixtures etc.
EDSSA 2002 & 2003 FIXTURE UPDATE Sept 9
NEW (09/09/12 21:30PM).
The 2002 and 2003 AGEGROUPS have had their Fixtures for Saturday the 15th of Sept. to Dec 1st uploaded to the EDSSA website.
CAN ALL PLEASE NOT THAT WE ARE BACK TO OUR NORMAL PITCHES MOVING FORWARDS
(Can ALL please check their locations and Kick-off times carefully AGAIN)
P.S. David Benham will be editing and releasing the 2001 agegroup, please reference David's Email once released.
If your team name is showing "not SYFA regd" then you will not be allocated fixtures until the team secretary e-mails Brian Martin AND Martin Lyons with a copy of your electronic SYFA registration for 2012/13 received from SYFA.
Even then, fixtures will only be allocated to ensure that all teams previously registered in good time receive a fixture.
Fixtures will be allocated to SYFA registered teams only and teams may be asked if they would mind playing two games to ensure previously registered teams do not lose out. Martin Lyons is organising this.
It was pleasing to see the yellow jackets being worn by the vast majority of coaches with one or two being reminded to put them on. The yellow jacket is as much a part of the coaches kit than the ball, whistle and stopwatch. Thank you for your co-operation.
The monitoring form is now uploaded to the website under Document Download tab.
The EDSSA Spring Startup Meeting will take place in Caldwell Hall, Campsie Road, Torrance at 8pm on Tuesday 19 Feb. 2013. All clubs must be represented and Applications for 2013 season to be in the hands of the Committee prior to the start of the meeting.
Please ensure that you bring along your SYFA forms for registration as you will need to register your team AND your players before the league starts otherwise no games for your team.
There are three separate sections that coaches can attend if they wish however for coaches new to 4s or going from 4s to 7s in the Spring Event, they MUST ATTEND the session between 10am and 12pm. Please advise all at your Club to ensure that you have at least one representative of your team if starting new to 4s or transitioning up to 7s.
Please note that teams signed up for March to November at the beginning of the year therefore forms are only required for "new" teams to the league.
If however any contacts have left or new contacts have joined your club or if any existing contacts have changed e-mail or phone numbers then please advise these to Brian Martin and Andy Bonar immediately so that you do not miss out on important communication.
"New" teams can complete the Registration Form by clicking on the Document Downloads tab.
The 2001 age group has an 11-a-side Festival on Saturday 15 June scheduled at Bearsden Academy and Douglas Academy. At the moment it looks like 5 teams will be based at each venue playing each other once in 25 minute games from 9am until 2pm (need to confirm let extention but should be okay).
Further details to follow.
One year on as the website is getting bigger there are lots of things happening which clogs up the Home page therefore all club development related information will be posted on Club Development page including details of SFA courses and in-service days, EDCSportscotland courses, SYFA and PVG/Disclosure Events
The Festival 11s tab has been updated with some photographs from both St Ninians High School and Douglas Academy. These were taken to capture the mood of the day and were deliberately panoramic to avoid identifying any of the children taking part.
A big thank you to everyone that supported the Event and especially to the coaches for their selfless work and of course. the youngsters for their spirit, skill and endeavour.
Also a really big thank you to the young referees, Alasdair and David at St. Ninians High School as well as Cammy and Pete, who have been stalwarts at Douglas Academy for most of the 7-a-side games.

Deadline extended to midnight on 16 AUGUST to submit applications for your teams for the Autumn Event. The registration form was e-mailed out and can be downloaded in the link below this one.
Teams must also register with SYFA per link to the right =========================================>>>>
SYFA Registrtaion requires the signature of Brian although any Committee member should be able to sign on behalf of EDSSA.
If everything is not in place prior to the August meeting then you will lose out - NO EXCUSES
Some teams have not yet registered with SYFA at syfaregistrations.co.uk. Failure to do so will result in your fixtures being removed - NO TEAMS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY FOOTBALL IN EDSSA WITHOUT THE PROPER SYFA REGISTRATION AS THIS PROVIDES THE INSURANCE COVER FOR ANY INJURIES CAUSED TO THE YOUNG PLAYERS. Any club/team playing their games whilst not in possession of SYFA Insurance will be brought before the Committee and may be expelled from the Autumn Event.
Delayed until February 2011.
Please click on the link to find out the latest developments in the new scheme which will replace enhanced Disclosure Scotland. Once fully rolled out and training has been undertaken by key EDSSA people we will arrange some evenings to get everyone through the new process.
During the last few weeks your Committee have been observing some games and are alarmed at the number of dogs being brought to games. Kids need to play in a safe environment and dogs should be left at home as they are not allowed on school premises nor Merkland cage.
Please also note the following standard requirements when using School 3G pitches.
In-Service day for ALL coaches taking teams in the Fun 4's Event in Spring. The session will be held at Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre from 9.15am and will last approximately 2 hours. Attendance is compulsory for coaches wtaking 2004/5 age group teams otherwise your team will not be allowed to take part.
Children 1st publicised a survey for children and young people regarding their media campaign to highlight the poor behaviour of adults at childrens' sporting events. There is another survey for parents and adults and we would be obliged if coaches and adult volunteers could spend 5 minutes to complete. Click on the link below to access the survey.
There will be monitors from SFA at the venues this Saturday handing out Surveys to capture information on children playing football in our league. This is happening in leagues across Scotland and your Committee should be obliged if you would co-operate with the monitors and provide the information that they are looking for as this will help drive decisions relating to funding requirements, facilities and so on which are important to all of us going forward.
Alan Watt stepped down from the Committee at the AGM after many years service to EDSSA. In appreciation of his length of service to the association and its member clubs, Alan was presented with an incribed plaque and bottle of Jura Malt whisky at the meeting. I'm sure the bug will set in and he will be back with us before too long....
Please ensure that you advise Andy Bonar at andrew.bonar@ntlworld.com know if you are competing in Autumn Event by next Sunday 5th August. If you competed in Spring Event you do not have to complete a new form but you DO have to advise Andy that you are taking part, how many teams and advise of any changes to coaches/volunteers and also phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
New teams are required to complete the EDSSA Registration Form.
Guys and Girls,
The amount of clubs that did not renew their SYFA Registrations on time are causing huge problems trying to schedule fixtures. I will be drafting some new resolutions for the Constitution around fining and making clubs responsible for the costs involved where lets have been made available but pitches empty due to non registration.
Fixtures are on the website and note that these are subject to change. If opponents still showing as "not SYFA registered then game cannot be played however the other team may use the pitch for training or a bounce game with their own squad if large enough.
Please check back often.
The following e-mail has been received from Letting and I would ask for everyone to observe the rules with coaches responsible for their own team children/parents/supporters.
Dear Letting Customer,
Following a number of very serious complaints regarding incidents taking place during community lets at Kirkintilloch High School, please see below just a few of the concerns brought to our attention.
Destruction of property (damage to flower beds)
Cars parking in the turning circle
Children running around school out with allocated areas
Dogs within the school grounds
Litter
Groups arriving earlier than allocated let times
The issues above have been raised in previous correspondence, I would be grateful if you could remind all connected to your group during your let of the letting rules in particular the above, as failure to comply will result in the cancellation of your let.
Kind regards
EDSSA has now registered with SYFA for the coming season so clubs are now able to go online using hyperlink below to register their teams for the new season. Please register, print off, get the relevant signatures on the form and bring along to the AGM on Tuesday 29 January where Brian will sign on behalf of EDSSA,
The SYFA have advised that ALL teams playing in leagues registered to them, including EDSSA, will require to register ALL PLAYERS with SYFA BEFORE the leagues start back in March. As the EGM is scheduled for 26 January, I will confirm with Hampden if the league can still authorise friendlies for teams that do not have their players registered. In the meantime, please save yourself and the league time by getting all players registered NOW.
